Pagona Kytzidis is a junior at Barnard College, studying history and political science. For my studies, she has researched how racecraft and racism affect America's legal interpretations of terrorism, the spatial distribution of political ideology and political machines in the 1859 New York City mayoral election, and gendered experiences of forced migration during the 1920-1923 Pontian Greek genocide. Professionally, she has a background in legislative, legal and academic research and analysis, and has led effective political organizing for both her home community and the Pennsylvania Democratic Party. During the summer of 2019, she worked as a Legislative Intern for New York City Council Member Keith Powers, as a Research Assistant for Mapping Historical New York City at Columbia University, and as a Summer Staff Editor for the Columbia Undergraduate Law Review. In her free time, she is the lead singer and a songwriter in the indie-fusion rock band, chky, and produce, write and play my own solo music as indie artist pg k.
